This Anti-Biofouling Copper Guard may be used in addition to the standard electrode guard for extra protection against biofouling during logger uset.
The anti-biofouling guard uses copper to reduce biofouling, while it still allowsproper water to flow around the sensor.

The copper protects the data logger by interacting with the chemistry of the water in which it is being deployed. Thiscauses an oxidation-reduction reaction that produces a patina, taht depends on what specific chemistry is present, as well as depth, temperature, etc.

This patina should not affect the ability of the guard to protect the logger. However, if the data logger is continually gaining more fouling, it may be time to replace the guard.
The ability of the guard to protect the logger relies on the copper being consumed.
