The technology uses forward scatter meter with 39° to 51°
angle in a given volume. This beam, modified for the
phenomenon of scattering, is detected by a receiver,
processed and turned into the sensor output as a value
proportional to the observed visibility and extended the
range distance programmed.

Biral visibility sensor according to WMO, high precision
