The technology uses forward scatter meter with 39° to 51°
angle in a given volume. This beam, modified for the
phenomenon of scattering, is detected by a receiver,
processed and turned into the sensor output as a value
proportional to the observed visibility and extended the
range distance programmed.

Biral visibility sensor according to WMO, high precision

Range: 10m ÷ 40.000m, supply 10 ÷ 35Vdc. Measuring principle 'forward scatter', complete with fixing kit pole. Available with optional heater. This sensor is suitable for applications in various fields of environmental monitoring and road and is particularly suitable for the AWOS weather stations in the aeronautical field. Easy to install, requires no periodic calibration and is protected from overvoltage and corrosive agents.
