The GMS 150 Gas Mixing System can produce precise mixtures of up to 4 different gases. The individual inlet gas flow rates are measured by thermal mass flowmeters and adjusted by integrated mass flow controllers.

Before the outlet connector, the gas mixture is completely homogenized. The inlet and outlet gas connectors are Prestolok type, allowing quick and safe connection to a variety of tubes. The GMS 150 is typically used to control the flow of air, carbon dioxide, and nitrogen. Additional gases such as nitrogen dioxide, ammonia, helium and others can also be added to simulate various technological mixtures or flue gases. The GMS 150 mass flow meters and controllers can operate gas flows ranging from 1 ml / min to 1000 l / min (custom version). Flow ranges can be controlled from 2% to 100% of the total flow value. GMS 150 controllers can be calibrated in the maximum flow range according to customer requirements. GMS 150 can be used as a standalone instrument and can be operated locally through the front panel display. The required gas mixture can be defined by setting the absolute flows of individual gases (e.g., 980 ml / min of air and 20 ml / min of CO2) or by setting the required relative composition of the final gas mixture (2% CO2 in air) and total gas flow (1,000 ml / min).

GMS 150 can also be coupled with photobioreactors, multiple growers or FytoScopes PSI. The standard version of the device designed for laboratory scale systems (PBR FMT 150 and MC-1000-OD) allows a maximum total flow of 2 L / min and a maximum CO2 flow of 40 ml / min. The typical version of GMS designed for large-scale installations (for example, large-scale PSI photobioreactors and FytoScopes) allows the maximum total flow of 20 L / min for channel 1 and 400 ml / min for channel 2.

Recently, PSI introduced the GMS 150-MICRO gas mixing system, a price-friendly entry-level version of the GMS 150. It retains all the features of the GMS 150 and the main difference is the limited selection of gas flow meters restricted to full flows. maximums ranging from 10 ml / min to 2.5 l / min and lower mixing precision. The standard version of the GMS 150-MICRO is equipped with two channels (channel 1 for Air-N2; channel 2 for CO2); the maximum total flow is 2 l / min (channel 1), the maximum flow of channel 2 is 40 ml / min. Optionally, the system can be upgraded to the four-channel version according to customer requirements. Preferably, the GMS 150-MICRO is designed for use with multicultivators and standard laboratory versions of photobioreactors (FMT 150/400 and FMT 150/1000).
