The Sensor measures: Wind Speed/Direction
Output Signal: HOBO Smart Sensor
Cable Length: 1.8 m
Sensor for use in: Outdoor

Davis Wind Speed/Direction Smart Sensors are compatible with all HOBO weather station loggers, HOBOware, and HOBOlink.
They offer the same ease-of-use as existing Onset Smart Sensors, providing cost-effective HOBO weather stations for projects on a tight budget.
The sensors feature a plug-in modular connector for easy installation, and all configuration parameters are stored in the sensor and automatically communicated to the logger, eliminating the need for programming or extensive setup.

Smart Sensor Mounting:

  1.      Slide the vane on its axis. The cross section of the shaft is D-shaped to ensure correct installation of the anemometer. The wind direction has already been calibrated at the factory to be accurate when the arm points north and the vane is correctly installed.
  2.      Tighten the vane fixing screw with the Allen wrench.
  3.      Insert the wind cups over the stainless steel shaft of the anemometer.
  4.      Slide the wind cups up as far as possible.
  5.      Use the provided Allen wrench to tighten the set screw on the side of the wind cups. The wind cups should fall slightly when released.
  6.      Make sure the set screw is fully tightened. Insufficient tightening may cause incorrect operation of the anemometer.
  7.      Turn the wind cups; They must move freely. If not, remove them and repeat these steps.
