The Sensor measures: Solar Light 360nm to 1120nm
Output Signal: 0 to 5 Vdc
Cable Length: 5 meters
Power Supply: 5 Vdc
Sensor for use in: Outdoor & Underwater

This is an amplified version of our standard pyranometer.
It is supplied at 5 volt dc, which allow for applications with less precise measuring capability.
This is a silicon-cell pyranometer, calibrated to measure total shortwave radiation.
The evaporation of water from soil and the transpiration of water from plant leaves are largely determined by the intensity of shortwave radiation, which is measured in Joules per meter squared per second or Watts per meter squared.
Require external power supply from 5 to 5,5 Vdc.

Cosine Response:
45º zenith angle: ± 1%

75º zenith angle: ± 5%
Absolute Precision: ± 5%

Repeatability: ± 1%

Drift: Less than 3% per year

Operating Environment:
-25 to 55 C

0 to 100% relative humidity
Designed for continuous outdoor use
Can be submerged in water

SP-215 is a 5.0 V model:

• Sensitivity: Custom calibrated to exactly 0.25 W m-2 per mV

Current Draw: 285 μA

Materials: Anodized aluminum with cast acrylic lens

Weight: 70 g (with 5 m lead wire)

Cable: 5 meters of twisted-pair wire
Foil shield, Santoprene jacket
Ending in pigtail leads.
Otional 2.5 Stereo jack for HOBO logger external input channel.
Additional cable is available in multiples of 5 meters

Warranty: 1 year against defects in materials and workmanship

Wiring for Sensors SP-110, SP-212, SP-215

Attach the sensor to a meter or datalogger capable of displaying or recording a mV output.

The model, serial number, production date, and conversion factor are located on the sensor cable.

The SP-112 & SP-215 pyranometers are amplified pyranometers that require a power supply.

Mounting the Pyranometer
Mount the pyranometer sensor to a solid surface with the nylon mounting bolt. The sensor should be mounted level for the most accurate measurements. We recommend using our leveling plate AL-100 (see accessories).

The pyranometer sensor should be mounted with the cable pointing toward true north in the northern hemisphere or true south in the southern hemisphere to minimize azimuth error. The azimuth error is typically less than 1%.
