A família IMAGING-PAM compreende as versões MAXI, MINI e MICROSCOPY. As diferentes versões empregam a mesma Multi Control Unit IMAG-CG. Além disso, a mesma câmera pode ser usada para versões diferentes. Essa modularidade permite a troca fácil e econômica de várias aplicações e ampliações fornecidas pela série M IMAGING-PAM.

As versões MAXI e MINI podem ser combinadas com o Sistema de Troca de Gás GFS-3000 e, portanto, integram informações espaciais detalhadas sobre a fotossíntese com a análise exata da fixação do carbono fotossintético.

Mais recentemente, um método avançado para criar imagens de plantas tridimensionais foi adicionado à versão MAXI. Essa nova configuração abre o caminho para projetar dados da análise de fluorescência na imagem tridimensional da planta, para que a fotossíntese possa ser analisada no contexto de toda a arquitetura da planta.

A Walz fornece uma família de sistemas de imagem de fluorescência por clorofila da série M IMAGING-PAM que abrange uma ampla gama de aplicações e mede amostras em larga escala com áreas maiores que o formato de placas com vários poços e tamanhos de amostras microscópico ao nível de células individuais ou mesmo cloroplastos.

Os instrumentos da série M foram utilizados com notável sucesso em vários campos da ciência, como fenótipos de plantas, ecofisiologia foliar, pesquisa de corais, patologia de plantas e ecofisiologia marinha.
