The measurement of precipitation is made by advanced a small 24GHz Doppler radar.
The speed rate of drops is registered by means of a 24 GHz radar system. By comparison between the speed rate and the size of the drops, the quantity of rain or its intensity is registered.
The rain/precipitation type (rain/snow/snow-covered rain/freezing rain/hail) is determined due to the speed rate of the rain.

Thanks to the adoption of new technologies and design, the structure of the unit is more compact and robust. There is no need to conduct maintenance or calibrations after he initial installation.
The unit is very suitable for integration into Agrometeorological Systems.
